11/26/05 I'd like to thank Lonna for testing this pattern for me. She said "I just finished the Lil' Darlin Baby Hat with earflaps and the pattern seems fine to me."

SIZE: 17" circumference, use J/10 6mm hook (pictured)
14" circumference, use G/6 4mm hook
16" circumference, use H/8 5mm hook

YARN: Bernat Softee Baby, 100% "Gentle Soft" Acrylic; 1/2 oz, 50 yds

HOOK: J for 17" (pictured)
for smaller hat use G for 14"; H for 16" or

GAUGE: 7 dc = 2" with J hook;
4 rows with J hook = 5 1/2";with G hook = 4 1/2"; with H hook = 5";

SKILL: easy

SUPPLIES: blunt needle, scissors, stitch markers (optional), tape measure

STITCHES: chain, single crochet, slip stitch; double crochet; half double crochet; shell

ABBREVIATIONS: ch = chain; sc = single crochet; sl st = slip stitch; hdc = half double crochet; sc2tog = single crochet 2 together; st = stitch; sts = stitches; ea = each; sk = skip;

sc2tog = insert hook in next st, pull yarn thru, insert hook in next st, pull yarn thru, yo pull yarn thru all 3 loops.
