Groovy Girly Toddler Jacket/Vest (3T)
Groovy Girl Crocheted Jacket Size: 3T Materials Needed: I hook About 330 yards worsted weight yarn (I used Moda Dea Washable Wool) 4 small buttons Instructions: Chain 50. Yoke: Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook and in next 4 chs, work 3 dc in next ch (corner), dc in next 5 chs, 3 dc in next ch (another corner), dc in next 12 chs, 3 dc in next ch (corner), dc in next 6 chs, 3 dc in next ch (last corner), dc in last 14 chs. Ch 2 and turn. Row 2: Dc in each stitch putting 3 dc in center st of each corner. At the end of the row ch 2 and turn. Row 3: Dc in same stitch as turning st made. (This makes an increase and causes the end to taper slightly. Repeat row 2. Rows 4 through 10: Repeat row 2. Row 11: Dc in each st to first corner, ch 9, dc in center st of second corner, dc across to center st of third corner, ch 9, dc in center of fourth corner and each st to end. (This makes the opening for the sleeve.) Body: Row 12: Ch 1, turn. Sc in 1st st, ch 3, sc in 3rd st to end of row. Ch 3, turn. Rows 13 through 25: Sk 2 st, dc shell (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in 2nd st to end (including sc in arm hole). End with dc in last st. Ch 3, turn. Continue shell stitch through Row 25 (or desired length). Sleeves (optional): Row 1: Attach yarn with a sl st in the center of the arm opening (with right side facing you). Ch 2, dc around. Sl st together in starting dc. Rows 2 through 12: Ch 2, dc around, sl st together. Row 13: Sc, skipping every 4th st around. Sl st together. Rows 14 through 16: Continue to sc around (sl st together) for slight cuff. Do this for both sleeves. Finishing: I like to put some kind of finishing edge all the way around. My favorite (and used on this jacket) is chain 3, sk 2 st. I then switched to the cream color and sc in each stitch around. On the bottom of the jacket you could ch 3 and sc in each ch 2 on the shell. By using the above stitch on the front you have already made your buttonholes. If you have any questions, please contact me. (Note: You can use this pattern for anything you would like. Just please do not sell it as your own and if you post it to your blog, or print it out for someone, please make sure credit is given where it is deserved. I’m happy to share my patterns for free so long as you don’t try and sell them yourself. Thanks!) Last edited by Beverooni; January 11, 2010 at 05:46 PM. Reason: Fix error (Row 11 should be 9sc not 5sc) |
