corner start/diagonal granny square

The granny square is here, and the rectangle is here. Both are very fast to work up.

You can even continue on from the end of the shape you were working on. There's a link here where I'm experimenting and having ideas.

Thanks so much for sharing this pattern.... I've seen the rectangle before and have always wanted to try it as a scrappy afghan. Crocheting long rectangles together, but didn't know how to start it... Thanks again! GBU!
