Size: 3.5” tall, 2.5” wide

Materials:
1 oz worsted weight yarn
G hook
Stitch marker
Yarn needle
Plastic bottle (I used a Equate ibruprofen bottle and cut off the top)

Abbreviations:
BLO = back loops only
ch = chain
dc = double crochet
hdc = half double crochet
Rnd = round
sc = single crochet

Note: This pattern is worked in continuous rounds. Do not join at the end of each round, instead place a stitch marker in the first stitch of each round.

Pattern:

Ch 2

Rnd 1: 6sc in 2nd ch from hook. (6 sc)

Rnd 2: 2sc in each st. (12 sc)


Rnd 3: (2sc in first st, sc in next st) 6 times. (18 sc)

Rnd 4: (2sc in first st, sc in next 2 st) 6 times. (24 sc)

Rnd 5: (2sc in first st, sc in next 3 st) 6 times. (30 sc)

Rnd 6: (2sc in first st, sc in next 4 st) 6 times. (36 sc)

Rnd 7: Working this Rnd in BLO, sc in first st and around. (36 sc)

Rnd 8-24: sc in first st and around. (36 sc)

Rnd 25: (sc, hdc, 2dc, 2dc, hdc, sc) 6 times. Finish off, weave in ends.

for sharing this pattern. It's so simple and looks like it can be worked up quickly. Also I think it would make a nice gift for a child's teacher. The teacher could keep pencils/pens in it. Or it would make a nice small simple present for someone who has a hard time finding a pen/pencil when they are on the telephone. I think I will shut up for now as I keep thinking of different ways this "hook holder" could be used which would make it a good gift or an added touch to a gift.

i made something like this a while back... out of cotton and my hubby uses it as a soda can cozy! these are wonderful and versatile!
