Materials:

Worsted Weight Yarn (like Red Heart Supersaver yarn) in 3 contrasting colors.
(Color A, Color B, Color C)
Size H hook (5.00mm)
Yarn needle (to weave in ends)

Finish Size: 12”h x 12”w inches

Note: Beginning Ch3 counts as dc through out except for Rnds 3, 7, and 11.

Directions:

Rnd 1: With Color A ch5, join with sl st to first chain to form a ring, ch3, 2 dc in ring, [ch3, 3 dc in same ring] Do this 3 times, ch3, join with sl st to top of beginning ch3.
(12dc, 4-ch3 spaces)

Rnd 2: Sl st in each of the next 2 sts, sl st in next ch3 space, ch3, (2 dc, ch3, 3 dc) all in same ch3 space, [ch1, skip next 3 dc, (3 dc, ch3, 3 dc) all in next ch3 space] Do this 3 times, ch1, skip next 3 dc, join with sl st to top of beginning ch3.
(24dc, 4-ch3 spaces)

Rnd 3: Ch3, skip next st, sl st in next st, ch3, skip next ch3 space, sl st in next st, [ch3, skip next st, sl st in next st, ch3, skip next ch1 space, sl st in next st, ch3, skip next st, sl st in next st, ch3, skip next ch3 space, sl st in next st] Do this 3 times, ch3, skip next st, sl st in next st, ch3, skip next ch1 space, join with sl st to joining sl st of Rnd 2.
(16-ch3 spaces, 16 sl sts)

Finish off.

Note: Rnd 4 is worked into the skipped corner ch3 spaces and skipped ch1 spaces on Rnd 2. Do not work into any of the ch3 spaces or sl st made from Rnd 3.

Rnd 4: Join Color B with a sl st to any corner ch3 space, ch3, (2 dc, ch3, 3 dc) all in same ch3 space, [ch1, 3 dc in next ch1 space, ch1, (3 dc, ch3, 3 dc) all in next ch3 space] Do this 3 times, ch1, 3 dc in next ch1 space, ch1, join with sl st to top of beginning ch3.
(36dc, 8-ch1 spaces, 4-ch3 spaces)

Rnd 5: Sl st in each of the next 2 sts, sl st in next ch3 space, ch3, (2 dc, ch3, 3 dc) all in next ch3 space, [*ch1, skip next 3 dc, 3 dc in next ch1 space, ch1, skip next 3 dc, 3 dc in next ch1 space, ch1, skip next 3 dc*, (3 dc, ch3, 3 dc) all in next ch3 space] Do this 3 times, Repeat from * to * once, join with sl st to top of beginning ch3.
(48dc, 12-ch2 space, 4-ch3 spaces)

Rnd 6: Sl st in each of the next 2 sts, sl st in next ch3 space, ch3, (2 dc, ch3, 3 dc) all in same ch3 space, {*[ch1, skip next 3 dc, 3 dc in next ch1 space] Do this 3 times, ch1, skip next 3 dc*, (3 dc, ch3, 3 dc) all in next ch3 space} Do this 3 times, Repeat from * to * once, join with sl st to to p of beginning ch3.
(60dc, 16-ch1 spaces, 4-ch3 spaces)

Rnd 7: Ch3, skip next st, sl st in next st, ch3, skip next ch3 space, sl st in next st, {[ch3, skip next st, sl st in next st, ch3, skip next ch1 space, sl st in next st] Do this 4 times, ch3, skip next st, sl st in next st, ch3, skip next ch3 space, sl st in next st} Do this 3 times, [ch3, skip next st, sl st in next st, ch3, skip next ch1 space, sl st in next st] Do this 3 times, ch3, skip next st, sl st in next st, ch3, skip next ch1 space, join with sl st to joining sl st of Rnd 6.
(40-ch3 spaces, 40 sl sts)

Finish off.

Note: Rnd 8 is worked into the skipped ch1 spaces and skipped corner ch3 spaces on Rnd 6. Do not work in any of the ch3 spaces and sl sts made from Rnd 7.

Rnd 8: Join Color C with a sl st to any corner ch3 space, ch3, (2 dc, ch3, 3 dc) all in same ch3 space, {*[ch1, 3 dc in next ch1 space] Do this 4 times, ch1*, (3 dc, ch3, 3 dc) all in next ch3 space} Do this 3 times, Repeat from * to * once, join with sl st to top of beginning ch3.
(72dc, 20-ch1 spaces, 4-ch3 spaces)

Rnd 9: Sl st in each of the next 2 sts, sl st in next ch3 space, ch3, (2 dc, ch3, 3 dc) all in same ch3 space, {*[ch1, skip next 3 dc, 3 dc in next ch1 space] Do this 5 times, ch1*, (3 dc, ch3, 3 dc) all in next ch3 space} Do this 3 times, repeat from * to * once, join with sl st to top of beginning ch3.
(84dc, 24-ch1 spaces, 4-ch3 spaces)

Rnd 10: Sl st in each of the next 2 sts, sl st in next ch3 space, ch3, (2 dc, ch3, 3 dc) all in same ch3 space, {*[ch1, skip next 3 dc, 3 dc in next ch1 space] Do this 6 times, ch1*, (3 dc, ch3, 3 dc) all in next ch3 space} Do this 3 times, repeat from * to * once, join with sl st to top of beginning ch3.
(96dc, 28-ch1 space, 4-ch3 spaces)

Rnd 11: Ch3, skip next st, sl st in next st, ch3, skip next ch3 space, sl st in next st, {[ch3, skip next st, sl st in next st, ch3, skip next ch1 space, sl st in next st] Do this 7 times, ch3, skip next st, sl st in next st, ch3, skip next ch3 space, sl st in next st} Do this 3 times, [ch3, skip next st, sl st in next st, ch3, skip next ch1 space, sl st in next st] Do this 6 times, ch3, skip next st, sl st in next st, ch3, skip next ch1 space, join with sl st to joining sl st of Rnd 10.

Finish off.

Rnd 12: Join Color A with a sl st to any corner ch3 space, ch3, (2 dc, ch3, 3 dc) all in same ch3 space, {*[ch1, 3 dc in next ch1 space] Do this 7 times, ch1*, (3 dc, ch3, 3 dc) all in next ch3 space} Do this 3 times, Repeat from * to * once, join with sl st to top of beginning ch3.
(108dc, 32-ch1 spaces, 4-ch3 spaces)

Rnd 13: Ch1, 1 sc in same st as joining, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, (2 sc, ch2, 2 sc) all in next ch3 space, {1 sc in each of the next 3 sts, [1 sc in next ch1 space, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts] Do this 8 times, (2 sc, ch2, 2 sc) all in next ch3 space} Do this 3 times, [1 sc in each of the next 3 sts, 1 sc in next ch1 space] Do this 8 times, join with sl st to first sc.
(156sc, 4-ch2 spaces)

Finish off and weave in ends.
