The follow patterns are written in this order: Cupcake Appliqué, Ice Cream Appliqué, Chocolate Chip Cookie Appliqué, Frosted Cookie Appliqué, Candy Appliqué, and Lollipop Appliqué.

Note: In patterns you will be instructed to leave long ends (tails). Even if it is not noted, weave in ends except for the long ends. I wrote down to leave long ends for sewing later to other crochet projects, if you feel like you won’t need the long ends or are attaching appliqué by different means feel free to omit long end.

Cupcake Appliqué

Materials:

Worsted Weight yarn in 2 different colors
(Color A= CA, Color B= CB)
Size H hook (5.00mm)
Stitch Marker
Yarn Needle (to weave in ends)

Finish Size: 3 ¾”h x 3 ¾”w at its widest.

Notes:

Do not work in any of the joining slip stitches (sl st).

Cupcake is worked with 2 colors at the same time. When doing color changes do not finish off unless instructed to.

Color Changing: Insert hook in next st, yarn over, draw up loop, yarn over with different color and pull thru both loops on hook.

Directions:

Rnd 1: With CA ch2, 3 sc in 2nd chain from hook color changing to CB when doing 3rd sc, 3 sc in same chain, join with sl st to first sc, ch1 and turn.

Mark Rnd 1 as right side.
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each of the next 3 sts color changing to CA when doing 6th sc, 2 sc in each of the next 3 sts, join with sl st to first sc, ch1 and turn.

Rnd 3: [2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st] Do this 2 times, 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st color changing to CB, [2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st] Do this 3 times, join with sl st to first sc, ch1 and turn.

Rnd 4: [2 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts] Do this 2 times, 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st color changing to CA, [2 sc in ext st, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts] Do this 3 times, join with sl st to first sc, ch1 and turn.

Rnd 5: [2 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts] Do this 2 times, 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, 1 sc in next st color changing to CB, [2 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts] Do this 3 times, join with sl st to first sc, ch1 and turn.

Rnd 6: 1 sc in each of the next 14sts, 1 sc in next st when finishing sc pull up both colors, drop CB loop. With CA 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts, 1 hdc in each of the next 2 sts, 3 dc in next st, 1 dc in each of the next 3 sts, 3 dc in next st, 1 hdc in each of the next 2 sts, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts, join with sl st to first sc.
(21sc,4 hdc, 9dc) (34sts total)

Finish off CA leaving a long tail for later sewing.

Note: The ruffle is worked in the center into the side of sc on CB side only on the surface. Here's a Diagram:

Ruffles: Insert hook back in dropped loop and make sure right side of square is facing you. Ch2, sl st in side of sc you first come to, [Ch2, sl st into side of next sc] Do this 11 times, finish off leaving a long tail for later sewing.


Ice Cream Cone Appliqué

Materials:

Worsted Weight yarn in 2 different colors
(Color A= CA, Color B= CB)
Size H hook (5.00mm)
Stitch Marker
Yarn Needle (to weave in ends)

Finish Size: 4 ½”h x 4”w at its widest.

Notes:

Do not work in any of the joining slip stitches (sl st).

Ice Cream Cone is worked with 2 colors at the same time. When doing color changes do not finish off unless instructed to.

Rnd 3: [2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st] Do this 2 times, 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st color changing to CB, [2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st] Do this 3 times, join with sl st to first sc, ch1 and turn.

Rnd 4: [2 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts] Do this 2 times, 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st color changing to CA, [2 sc in ext st, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts] Do this 3 times, join with sl st to first sc, ch1 and turn.

Rnd 5: [2 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts] Do this 2 times, 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, 1 sc in next st color changing to CB, [2 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts] Do this 3 times, join with sl st to first sc, ch1 and turn.

Rnd 6: [2 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of the next 4 sts] Do this 2 times, 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts, 1 sc in next st color changing to CA, 1 sc in each of the next 5 sts, skip next 2 sts, 5 dc in next st, skip next 2 sts, 1 sc in each of the next 5 sts, join with sl st to first sc, ch1 and turn.
(28sc, 5dc) (33sts total)
Rnd 7: 1 sc in each of the next 7 sts, (2 hdc, ch2, 2 hdc) all in next st, 1 sc in each of the next 6 sts, 1 sc in next st color changing to CB. Fasten off CA leaving a long tail for later sewing. 1 sc in each of the next 18 sts, join with sl st to first sc.
(32sc, 4 hdc, 1-ch2 space) (36ststotal)

Note: The ruffle is worked in the center into the side of sc on CB side only on the surface. Like Cupcake.

Ruffles: Make sure right side of square is facing you. Ch2, sl st in side of sc you first come to, [Ch2, sl st into side of next sc] Do this 13 times, finish off leaving a long tail for later sewing.


Chocolate Chip Cookie Appliqué

Materials:

Worsted Weight yarn in tan and brown
Size H hook (5.00mm)
Yarn needle

Finish Size: 2 ¼”h x 2 ¼”w circle

Directions:

Rnd 1: With tan ch2, 6 sc in 2nd chain from, join with sl st to first sc..

Rnd 2:Ch1, 2 sc in same st as joining, 2 sc in each of the next 5 sts, join with sl st to first sc.
(12sc)
Rnd 3: Ch1, 1 sc in same st as joining, [2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st] Do this 5 times, 2 sc in next st, join with sl st to first sc, ch1 and turn.
(18sc)

Rnd 4: Ch1, 2 sc in same st as joining, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, [2 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts] Do this 5 times, join with sl st to first sc, ch1 and turn.
(24sc)
Rnd 5: Sl St in each of the next 23 sts, join with sl st to join sl st of Rnd 4.
(24sl sts)

Finish off leaving a long tail for later sewing.

Chocolate Chips: Cut an 18”inch or longer piece of brown yarn. With needle embroider chocolate chips onto cookie.


Frosted Cookie Appliqué

Materials:

Worsted weight yarn in 2 different colors
(Frosting color and Cookie color)
Size H hook (5.00mm)
Yarn needle

Finish Size: 2 ½”h x 2 ½”w circle

Directions:

Rnd 1: With Frosting color ch2, 6 sc in 2nd chain from, join with sl st to first sc.

Rnd 2:Ch1, 2 sc in same st as joining, 2 sc in each of the next 5 sts, join with sl st to front loop of first sc.
(12sc)
Note: Work Rnd 3 in front loops only.

Rnd 3: Ch2 2 dc in same front loop as joining, [skip next st, sl st in front loop of next st, ch2, 2 dc in same front loop] Do this 5 times, join with sl st to joining sl st of Rnd 2.
(12dc, 6 sl sts) (Ch2 does not count as dc)

Note: Rnd 4 is worked into the back loops left free from working Rnd 3 in front loops only, do not work into any of the stitches made from working Rnd 3.

Rnd 4: Join Cookie color with sl st to any of the free back loops left free from working Rnd 3 in front loops only. Ch1, 1 sc in same back loop, [2 sc in next back loop, 1 sc in next back loop] Do this 5 times, 2 sc in next back loop, join with sl st to first sc.

Note: On Rnd 5 you will be working in back loops of the dc on frosting as well as into Rnd 4. Only work into back loops on frosting when noted to. This will keep the decorative edge on the frosting down.

Rnd 5: 2 sc in same st as joining, {*[1 sc in next st going thru back loop of dc on frosting] Do this 2 times,* 2 sc in next st} Do this 5 times, Repeat from * to * once, join with sl st to first sc.

Rnd 6: Sl st in each of the next 23 sts, join with sl st to joining sl st of Rnd 5.
(24 sl sts)

Finish off leaving a long end for later sewing.


Candy Appliqué:

Materials:

Worsted Weight yarn
Size H hook
Yarn needle

Finish Size: 1 ½”h x 3 ¼”w

Directions:

Rnd 1: Ch2, 6 sc in 2nd chain from, join with sl st to first sc.

Rnd 2:Ch1, 2 sc in same st as joining, 2 sc in each of the next 5 sts, join with sl st to first sc.
(12sc)
Rnd 3: Ch4, 1 sc in 2nd chain from hook, 1 sc in each of the next 2 chains, ch1 and turn. 1 sc in back loop of each of the next 3 sts, ch1 and turn. 1 sc in back loop of each of the next 3 sts, sl st in same st as joining on round part, sl st in each of the next 5 sts, sl st in next st, ch4, 1 sc in 2nd chain from hook, 1 sc in each of the next 2 chains, ch1 and turn. 1 sc in back loop of each of the next 3 sts, ch1 and turn. 1 sc in back loop of each of the next 3 sts, sl st in same st as last sl st, sl st in each of the next 5 sts, join with sl st to joining sl st of Rnd 2.
(18sc, 14 sl sts) (9sc on each side of circle)

Finish off leaving a long tail for later sewing.


Lollipop Appliqué

Materials:

Worsted weight yarn in 2 different colors
(Lollipop color and Stick color)
Size H hook (5.00mm)
Yarn needle

Finish Size: 5”h x 2” at its widest

Directions:

Rnd 1: With lollipop color ch2, 6 sc in 2nd chain from, join with sl st to first sc.

Rnd 2:Ch1, 2 sc in same st as joining, 2 sc in each of the next 5 sts, join with sl st to first sc.
(12sc)
Rnd 3: Ch1, 1 sc in same st as joining, [2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st] Do this 5 times, 2 sc in next st, join with sl st to first sc.
(18sc)
Rnd 4: Ch3, 1 sc in 2nd chain from hook, 1 sc in next st, ch 1 and turn. 1 sc in back loop of each of the next 2 sts, ch1 and turn. 1 sc in back loop of each of the next 2 sts, sl st in front loop only of same st as joining on round part, sl st in each of the next 17 sts, join with sl st to joining sl st of Rnd 3.
(19sl sts, 12sc)

Finish off leaving a long tail for later sewing.

Stick: Join Stick color with sl st to free back loop (from working in front loop only in same st as joining on Rnd 4), ch12, 1 sc in 2nd chain from hook, 1 sc in each of the next 10 chains, sl st in same back loop.

Finish off leaving a long tail for later sewing.
