Funkalicious Pet Pad
I called it "funkalicious" because the colors I used came out looking really kewl. lol... This would be great for large cats and smaller sized dogsPlease pardon the bad photos. I just found out that my new camera attachment blocks part of the flash. FUNKALICIOUS PET PAD Worsted Weight Yarn – approximately 4 oz each of four different colors Q Hook NOTE: CH 3 counts as first DC FINISHED SIZE: 25 inches long by 15 inches wide Holding all four strands together, chain 14 loosely. Round One: DC in the fifth chain from the hook. DC in each of the next 8 chains. DC 6 times in the last chain. DO NOT TURN. Continuing around to the other side of the foundation chain, DC in the free loops of the next 9 chains. DC 5 times in the next chain. Join with a slip stitch to the top of the beginning chain. Round Two: CH 3. DC in next 9 sts. 2 DC in next 6 sts. DC in next 9 sts. 2 DC in next 5 sts. DC in same st as first DC and join with sl st to first DC. Round Three: CH 3. DC in next 9 sts. 2 DC in next DC. *DC next st, 2 DC next st* 5 times. DC in next 10 sts. 2 DC in next st. *DC in next st, 2 DC in next st* 5 times. Join with sl st to first DC. Round Four: CH 3. DC in next 11 sts. 2 DC in next st. * DC in next 2 sts, 2 DC in next st* 5 times. DC in next 11 sts. *2 DC in next st, DC in next 2 sts* 5 times. DC in same st as first DC and join with sl st to first DC. Round Five: CH 3. DC in next 10 sts. 2 DC in next st. *DC in next 3 sts, 2 DC in next st* 5 times. DC in next 12 sts. 2 DC in next st. *DC in next 3 sts, 2 DC in next st* 5 times. DC in last st and join with sl st to first DC. Round Six: CH 3. I'm glad you guys like it! I just noticed in the picture that it looks a little like a figure 8, but it's really just an oval. One thing I did notice is that there were (to me) noticable gaps around the CH 3 at the beginning of each round. When I make another one, I will do a CH 2 instead, because the gap isn't as large. It might just be me, but I thought I would throw that out there in case someone else notices this too.
I used some skeins I had lying around the house. I think they were all RH, although a couple of them didn't have their lables anymore. Yup, I got nekkid yard in the house!!!!! ![]() Can't give you the exact color names, but I used a mintish green, light purple, black and the RH varigated "Starbright." I think having the Starbright in there really made it cool because it kept bringing in little flashes of other colors, like yellow, pink and blue, plus coordinating colors of purple and green. It only took about 45 minutes to 1 hour to make...and I'm pretty slow. Plus I didn't have the pattern written down correctly and kept loosing my place. Lol.... Please post pictures if you make one. I would loooooooove to see it!
