Pattern for Bra?

Looking for a bra pattern. I don't mean those bikini tops that half your boob sticks out. I'm thinking about making my own bra, i'm 5 months pregnant and now have only one bra that fits me! So does anyone have any good patterns, or at least a start off point i could use. Thanks so much.

Sorry I can't help you. But I have to ask...are you sure you want a bra made out of yarn? That sounds awfully itchy to me...

I'd recommend using a high-quality size 10 thread and lining the bra with satin or a stretchy lycra material.

Use the bra that fits to make a pattern--draw the pieces onto a piece of paper, then make your crocheted pieces to match the pattern. For the band and shoulder straps, use smaller hook and only sc so it will be a little stretchy but firm enough to support you.

You can purchase bra closures in the craft/fabric section of Wal-Mart and Hobby Lobby's fabric section, and any big fabric store like Hancock's has them as well as underwires if you prefer those.

Of course, since you're five months pregnant, you'll probably want to buy at least one more commercially-made bra in your third trimester so you can make more that fit.

I had a baby in 2004. All I can say is, spend the money and buy a good bra. The things that are about to happen to your breasts is startling. You won't believe how much support you are going to need. Especially once your milk comes in, you are going to want something comfortable, and supportive.

thanks. i know what my boobs will do since this is my third baby. It just irritates me that i only have one wearable bra. i was gonna line the bra w/ fabric. I was pretty much wondering if anyone had a good pattern to go off on for the shaping of the cup.
