I made one ,I just ch 5 ,ss to make a circle ch2 do 12 dc,join to first dc,( I didn't count ch 2 as first dc), ch 2 dc in same st *,2 dc next st ,1 dc next*repeat
from* *There should be 18 dc.Join to first dc then dc in each stitch around. Til it is long enough to fit across the bottom of your door. I stuffed it as I went. You can single crochet or half double crochet. I think that is what I will do the next one I do.If you decide to do sc, I think you should do 2 in each of the second row.Just do increases if you want it bigger around til you get the size you want. Hope this makes sense. If it doesn't let me know and I will try again. Corky |

great idea Corkey, I wonder if stuffing with those irksome plastic foam packing beans would work well? You know those things explode out of a box, and blow out of your garbage when you try to throw them away? They're excellent for heat insulation... made of the same kind of stuff your styrofoam coolers are made of.

Old plastic grocery and WalMart bags do great to, one way to recycle them to, in a good way

You could also fill a pantyhose with some beans and run it along the bottom, for weight, to help keep it pressed against the door.
My mom wants me to make her one for Christmas, and I was planning on just making a long tube without a pattern, then stuffing it with beans and fiberfill. I was wondering if the yarn used would make a differnce, though - like would wool or cotton be better than acrylic? |

There are two here. The sentry snake and guard dog. They are both cute. Lisa |
