Egg Babies

Hey y'all, here is how I made my egg babies. They are super simple.

I've never written a pattern, this is from scribbled notes so all my babies would end up the same size. So, I apologize if it's weirdly written.
I used worsted weight yarn and I think either a G or H. They ended up about the size of a regular egg.

Ch 4, join to make a circle
Ch 1, 8 sc in circle (9 sc) At this point I just worked in rounds without joining, but used a marker that I kept moving up.
2 sc in each sc (18 sc)
On the next round, increase 4 sc evenly around (22 sc)
Work 8 rounds even
Next round, decrease 4 sc evenly (18 sc)
SC in next 4, dec 1 around (15 sc)
Right around now you can start to stuff them with fiberfill. Keep stuffing as you close up the hole. A very firm egg turned out nicer than a loosely stuffed one.
SC in next 3, dec 1 around (12 sc)
Dec every stitch around for a total of 6 stitches, then cut the yarn and using the yarn tail, sew the hole closed.

Then, embroider little cute faces on felt or scrap fabric and sew them to the Egg Baby.

Easy peasy, and fun to lob around the house, with no eggy mess.

I just wanted to add, that I'm so happy that people have made the egg babies and like them! It put a big smile on my face.

Thanks for sharing. Can't wait to have the time to try something with this pattern. I was thinking about making a dozen, colored Easter eggs and putting them in an emtpy egg carton or basket. Brown eggs would be cute too. OOOOOh ...... the possibilities! Does any else have any ideas?

Those are so cute! I wish my great big dog were still here, he would love to chase those all over with me throwing them for him.
Thanks for the pattern.
