Table Leg Warmers...

When dd started rolling around on the floor this past summer and bumping into everything, dh asked me to make something to cushion the coffee table legs. So, I grabbed my hook and miscellaneous yarn and began working. What resulted were table leg warmers...Tables have legs, legs get cold, why not? Anyway, I made enough for our coffee table. They look so cute and funky, I thought I'd make some for my family's white elephant gift exchange for Christmas!! I also need to design some "pants" for pedestal tables, but here are the leg warmers for the "female" tables:

Ch 33.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in ea ch across. Ch 1, turn.
Row 2: Sc in back loop of 1st sc and in ea sc across. Ch 1, turn.
Ea subsequent row: Rep Row 2 until size desired. Sew long sides together. Place on table legs.

You can even play around with pattern stitches...Post pics of what you come up with!!! LOL

Those are very fun!! the possibilities are endless!

come to think of it, my mom made a bunch of "shoes" for the chairs so they wouldn't scratch the hardwood. She made them out of old nylons so they blended in with the wood and lasted a long time. I thought that was terribly clever..........

Neat idea! I wish I had those a few years ago before my darling Sable scratched up the legs of my dining room table.

So have you made different colors to change them for the seasons?

I have some red and some green for the dining room chairs. That covers Christmas (using both colors), Valentine's Day (all red), and Saint Patrick's Day (all green).
