Magic Scarf

Have you ever seen or heard of the Magic Scarf?

www.magicscarf.com/stores...a7fddbac0c

It seems to be a tube that can be stretched to five times the width. Are there instructions anywhere to make one of these scarfs?

Oh my friend has one of those!! I have no idea how it's made though - it looked all weaved together, not crocheted.

Aha! Here's a link on it, it's knitted

My dear friend (LaPrincessa... oh whatever her long name is), teaches how to make these! (She sent me one made of pink eyelash yarn.) (I <img border=0 src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/rowofhearts.gif" /> love it!)
I'll bet she knows if it can be crocheted....

Well, kewl! I actually have a knitting machine. I haven't gotten much use out of it lately. Might just dust it off and give this a go.

Froggy, this would be a good thing to practice on. All you'd have to do is knit every row and use a large size needle. Not a lot of stitches or fancy things involved, so you could get a feel for it without too much frustration.

That is the COOOLEST thing I have seen. I knew there was a reason I needed to learn to knit. What versatility. Sutty's Crochet Site

Why can't we put our heads together and duplicate this in crochet. Come on--knitting has nothing on us. It almost looks like a Mobius scarf only not twisted. The type of yarn is what makes it lay so lavish on the body. Hmmmmm... what do you all think?

my thoughts are....
looks like it would be done with a really large hook - like a Q, maybe in sc in back loop only... that makes for a really stretchy 'fabric'
???????
anyone else?

This starts as a tube. Moebius is flat and stitched closed with a twist. You'd have to make a tube that I'm figuring would be about 3 feet long. Then it would have to be really stretchy in order to go from shoulder to shoulder.
