Looks like it is done in motifs but if it isn't you could kinda make your own pattern using your favorite motif. It is beautiful though. Hey Cathey I love your website and your purses they are really nice!

Perhaps if you stitched a square motif and surrounded it with a couple of rounds of chain mesh, then joined the motifs as you went along? I did that once for a scarf I was making to get that kind of effect with the mesh between the motifs.
