Crinoline Lady CAL photo links post # 2
![]() Yarnlover66...Teresa, will be co~hosting this CAL with me. Crinoline Ladys are simply beautiful! and you can put them just about anywhere, matted and framed to hang on a wall, sewn onto a baby blanket, table cloth edge, scrapbook cover...the possibilities are endless. They are a timeless treasure, an heirloom. There are a few free patterns out there and some for purchase. I'll post links for both. There are no rules or time limits. Just chose your pattern, and post with your progress. Everyone is welcome, and we love pictures! So grab a hook and come on in! I'm sure there are more patterns, these are the few I have handy. This is a must see for any Crinoline Lady fanatic! Some one posted this link for me in the Crinoline Lady Crazy thread a while back..Thank you! These look half embroidered and crocheted, just beautiful!http://www.effieselements.com/Southern%20Belle%20Pillowcase%20&%20Sheet%20Patter ns.htm Free patterns... on the right column, down about 10 or 12 links.. http://home.inreach.com/marthac/bed.html http://www.angelfire.com/folk/celtwich/Guesttowel.html http://www.angelfire.com/folk/celtwich/LadyFair.html http://www.angelfire.com/folk/celtwich/Cameogirl.html http://www.learn-how-to-crochet.com/motif.html These are to purchase, and the most beautiful I've seen! scroll down, 5th one down http://www.crochetmemories.com/patterns/runnermenu2.php http://www.daintycrochet.com/dollspatterns.html http://www.daintycrochet.com/angelsdoiliespattern.html http://www.daintycrochet.com/teddyandbunnypatterns.html http://www.crochetmemories.com/patterns/dollmenu.php http://www.maggiescrochet.com/pages/..._lady_main.htm http://www.maggiescrochet.com/pages/..._lady_main.htm http://www.maggiescrochet.com/pages/...doily_main.htm http://www.maggiescrochet.com/pages/...doily_main.htm http://www.maggiescrochet.com/pages/...doily_main.htm http://www.maggiescrochet.com/pages/...adies_main.htm I think I will start off with the Cameo Girl Doily one if I can figure out how to just make the girl, not the whole doily...off to read the pattern! Have fun! Can't wait to see photos with your progress! Last edited by heart; April 15, 2007 at 12:47 PM. |

I'd like to try making one. I think I'll do the Crinoline Ladies for Guest Towels. That looks like a simple one to start with.

OooOOoOoh, I'm in. I've been wanting to try one for quite some time now. And I've been eyeing the patterns at Crochet Memories. But I think I should start with something smaller.

Sure! I'm actually working on the Cameo Girl Doily..(in the free links at the bottom of the first post) and the instructions are to make 1 girl at a time, then piece it together, it starts at the top of the neck then works its way down, it is also fairly easy, it looks like some of the rows are missing in the instructions, but in some places, it says to repeat last row, so if you take it 1 step at a time, this one would be a good starter. I'll post a photo of my progress (just started it this morning, so you will see how quick it goes) B/c there are not to many stitches. So grab a hook and jump on in!

Ok, here is my progress for today on the Cameo girl doily. I'm just making 1 and wll attach the arms to the skirt, instead of the joining motifs. I will be starting a different one too, I just haven't decided which one yet. The colors aren't this lemon-y. They just scanned bright.
I did notice, the DMC Traditions # 10 thread is a little thicker than the Aunt Lydia's # 10 thread. Anyone else notice that too? Maby I just got a defictive ball? lol, anywho...crochet away! (clickable) http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o...ocrinoline.jpg |
