Rnd 2: (ch3,sc in next st) around, join in 1st ch (8 ch-3 loops made) Rnd 3: Working behind ch3 loops made on previous round and into sc of Rnd 1, sl st into next sc, ch3 (counts as 1st dc here on in), 2 dc in same st. (3dc in next sc) around, join with sl st to 3rd ch of first ch3. (24 dc) Rnd 4: (ch3, sk next dc, sc into next dc) around. join w/ sl st in 1st ch. (12 ch3 loops) Rnd 5: (ch4, sc in next sc) around. Join w/ sl st in 1st ch. (12 ch4 loops) Rnd 6: sl st into next ch4 loop, ch1 (sc, hdc,dc,hdc,sc) into same loop, [(sc, hdc,dc,hdc,sc) into next loop] around. join with a sl st into sc (12 “petals”) Rnd 7: Working behind R6 petals [(dc,ch2,dc) into ch3 space from Rnd 4] around. Join w/ a sl st to 1st dc. (12 V-stitches) Rnd 8: ch3, 3 dc in ch2 sp, dc in next dc. (dc in next dc, 3 dc in next ch2 sp, dc in next dc) around. Join with sl st to 3rd ch of ch3. (60 dc) Rnd 9: ch1, sc in same st, sc in next st, [sc through BOTH dc of petal from Rnd 6 and next dc. Sc in next 4 dc of Rnd 8] around, sc in next 2 sts. Join with sl st to 1st sc. (60 sc) Rnd 10: ch3, (dc in next 2 sc, hdc in next 2 sc, sc in next 5 sc, hdc in next 2 sc, dc in next 2 sc, 2dc in next sc, ch1, 2 dc in next sc – corner made) 4 times, omitting last dc and joining with sl st to 3rd ch of first dc. This is a pretty square. I think that it would make a lovely center square, mixed in with simple granny squares.

I think it's lovely. I agree it would be nice as a centre, but it would also be nice as one of many. Can't wait to see what someone does with it.

Very pretty. I'm "into" making afghans with squares lately. I'm a bit slow though! LOL! This will make a very nice one.

Krystal, I made another one last night with a full WW yarn and it is just as pretty ...no matter how you make it. I will post some pics when I get some new batteries.
