Tic-Tac-Tote: Original Pattern

Thanks to discussion on the Valentine's CAL thread, I came up with this little bag, even before I saw Darski's delightful design (Love to Tic tac toe). Thought I'd post it here to share with you all. Feel free to use this pattern for personal use, gifts, fundraisers, KristieMN's toy drive, etc...(Just remember that it's my pattern Thanks)

Game Pieces Off

Game Pieces on...
(For the hearts in the picture, I used this pattern)

Oh...you need WW yarn for the tote, and I used sport weight for the game pieces...A 4.0mm hook for the tote, and a 3.5 mm hook for the pieces... here goes

Tote:
With MC Ch 22
1. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each rem ch. (21sc) Turning to work in free loops of beg chain, sc in each rem loop. (42 sc total) Join, Turn

2. Ch 1, sc in each sc around. Join, Turn. (42 sts)

3. Repeat step 2 for a total of 23 rounds.

4. Ch 1, sc in first 5 sts. Ch 11, skip 11 sts, sc in next 10 sts. Ch 11, skip 11 sts, sc in last 5 sts. Join, turn.

5. Ch 1, sc in each sc and chain around (42). Join, Do NOT turn.

6. Ch 1, rsc (crab st) in each st around. Join. FO

7. With CC of choice, surface chain (or embroider) tic-tac-toe grid on front of bag...(should be working in every 7th vertical and every7th horizontal row, to keep it even)

8. Turn bag inside out to weave in tails.

Flower:
1. Magic circle (or Chain 2) 5 sc into circle (or 2nd ch from hook).
2. (sl st, 2 dc, sl st) in each sc around. (5 petals)

Make 5 flowers in one color, 4 in another color.

Other small motifs could also be used. You can also skip steps 4 & 5, and sew in a zipper if you prefer...

Enjoy!

OH MY GOODNESS! I have been waiting for Darksi to post her pattern, what a coincidence. "Great minds think alike", eh? This is SOOO cute. I was going to go to the store but now I think I better stay home and make this. Thank you so much for posting it.
