My Crochet Market Bag Pattern

Here is the pattern for my Market Bag. Sorry it took so long, I'm in the process of moving. Original link can be found here: http://www.crochetville.org/forum/sh...ad.php?t=73273

Rnd 25: ch 1; sc in each hdc around, join with slst to first sc, ch 2
DO NOT FINISH OFF
Strap:
NOTE: strap is worked in rows
Row 26: ch 2; hdc in next 6 sts; turn
Row 27: ch 2; hdc in next 6 hdc; tun
Continue in this pattern until strap measures approx 19"
Fasten off, leaving a 6" tail
Sew strap to opposite side of bag with tail and yarn needle
Pocket:
Make a ch measuring approx 7" Hdc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across; turn
Row 1: Ch 2; hdc in each hdc across; turn
Row 2: Ch 2; hdc in each hdc across; turn
Continue in this pattern until piece measures approx 5" long
Fasten off, leaving tail long enough for sewing
To figure out placement of pocket,

Lay bag flat, as pictured:

Fold sides under the bag, so I looks like this:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...agdiagram2.jpg

Sew Pocket in place pictured along the red lines, leaving the blue open:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...agdiagram3.jpg

and Voila! you have a foldable market bag! To fold bag into pocket, simply lay bag down as in the first picture, fold down the strap, fold under the sides as in the second pic, fold that in half short ways, and flip the pocket inside out! Hope this helps some people!

Cool!

I have been waiting for this pattern. I have a ton of WIPS but I think I might just slip this in... for the good of the environment of course

Thanks for sharing the pattern!

tris4crochet pointed out to me that the body should be much longer, so I fixed that in my original post. Thanks tris!

Bag done

Finished the bag, pictures are posted under Misc Show and Tell. Super easy pattern and the bag is way too cute. Thinking about making a few in cotton

Thanks again for the pattern!
