Bangle Bag
Bangle Bag A dainty handbag perfect for a little girls that works up really fast. Cables create a stylish piece while bobble detail offers added texture. Mum can have one too! http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i2..._BangleBag.jpg http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i2...banglebag2.jpg http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i2...banglebag1.jpg You may NOT sell this pattern Supplies: 3mm crochet hook Sport weight cotton yarn ** (I used Panda Regal 4ply, a tester used Patons Grace) 2 bangles measuring about 6.5cm/2.75" 2 stitch markers darning needle Optional: embellishments **NOTE: you can make this with WW yarn and appropriate hook with round purse handles. Special Stitch: bpdc dec; yo, insert hook around fdpc, draw up a loop, yo, draw through 2 loops on hook, insert around next fpdc, yo, draw through 2 loops on hook, yo draw through remaining 2 loops. All ch3 at beginning of row are counted as first dc You will need to make 2 pieces all ch3 at end of row counts as 1st dc of next row 1. Slip stitch onto bracelet, *ch5, slip stitch onto bracelet* repeat 5 times (6slip stitches, 5 ch5 spaces) [keep your slip stitches loose as they are part of row 2 and you need to crochet into them] ch1 turn 2. sc in each stitch across (31) ch3 turn [I used back loop only as it was easier, it will make no difference to the pattern] 3. 2dc at base of ch3 (3dc in 1st stitch), dc in next 29, 3dc in last stitch (35) ch3 turn 4. dc in next stitch, *fpdc, 2dc* across (35) ch3 turn 5. dc in base of ch3 (2 stitches in 1st stitch), dc in next stitch, *bpdc, 2dc* across to final bpdc, dc in next stitch, 2dc in last stitch (37) ch3 turn - add a stitch marker here 6. dc in next 2, *fpdc, 2dc* across, dc in last 3 stitches (37) ch3 turn 7. dc in next 2, *bpdc, 2dc* across, dc in last 3 stitches (37) ch3 turn 8. repeat row 6 (37) 9. repeat row 7 (37) 10. *dc in next 2 stitches, 2fpdc around next* repeat across, dc in last 3 stitches (48) ch3 turn 11. *dc in next 2 stitches, bpdc dec* repeat across, dc in last 3 (37) ch3 turn 12. repeat row 6 (37) 13. repeat row 7 (37) 14. repeat row 6 (37) 15. repeat row 7 (37) 16. repeat row 6 (37) 17. repeat row 7 (37) ch1 turn 18. sc decrease over next 10 stitches (5sc dec), sc next 17, sc decrease over next 10 stitches (5sc dec) (27) ch1 turn 19. sc across (27) ch1 turn 20. sc across (27) bind off sew in ends Sewing up: place the two halves together INSIDE OUT and sew up by whatever means pleases you only as high as your stitch markers. This allows for the bag to open a reasonable way. Alternatively: hold bag together right sides facing and crochet the seams adding a decorative edging. Again, only join as high as your stitch markers. Alternative Row 1: ch32, sc in second chain from the hook and every chain after - then sew up using a zip, make a flap for it and add a button etc Alternative Row 10 & 11: repeat row 6 and 7 This pattern is an original design by me, Michelle Robertson and is copywrited by myself. Shell let me test this pattern for her and I must agree, it works up really fast (maybe a couple of hours...) and is very fun! It took me a handful of yards less than 1 skein of Patton's Grace.
