Frog Rattle
Frog Rattle As with all my patterns, feel free to sell the completed item!! Please do not sell the pattern. Supplies needed: Small amounts of sports weight yarn. (Carons simply soft also works) Fiberfill F hook Tapestry needle Stitch marker, or safety pin 1 cat ball for each frog. (You can find these at most stores in the pet isle. They are plastic, with a bell in the middle. They work great…as long as somebody doesn’t step on them) Terms used: Sc = single crochet Ch = chain Slp st = slip stitch BLO = back loops only Sc-dec = single crochet decrease over 2 stitches FO = finish off, fasten off Finished size: 3 ¼ inches tall by 3 inches wide, by 3 inches long, not including legs. Frog is worked in one continuous spiral, unless otherwise noted. Body With main color, and F hook, Ch 2 1) 6 sc in 2nd hook from chain 2) 2 sc in each ch around (12 sc) 3) (2 sc in first sc, sc in next sc) repeat around (18 sc) 4) (2 sc in first sc, sc in next 2 sc) repeat around (24 sc) 5) (2 sc in first sc, sc in next 3 sc) repeat around (30 sc) 6) (2 sc in first sc, sc in next 4 sc) repeat around (36 sc) 7-13) sc in each sc around 14) (sc-dec, sc in next 4 sc) repeat around (30 sc) 15) (sc-dec, sc in next 3 sc) repeat around (24 sc) Insert cat ball and stuff around it. 16) (sc-dec, sc in next 2 sc) repeat around (18 sc) 17) (sc-dec, sc in next sc) repeat around (12 sc) Stuff a bit more 18) sc-dec around (6 sc) Slp st to next sc FO leaving longer tail. Use tail to sew hole shut. Weave in end. Eyes (make 2) With green Ch 2 1) 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook 2) sc in each sc around (6 sc) 3) (2 sc in first sc, sc in next sc) repeat around (9 sc) Slp st to next sc FO leaving longer tail Eye ball (make 2) With white, Ch 2 1) 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Slp st to first sc made. FO, leaving longer tail. Sew eye ball to frog eye. Stuff eye just a bit, and sew to top of frog ball. Arms and legs (make 4) With green Ch 15 1) sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 8 ch’s, 3 sc in next ch, sc in next 4 ch’s, sc and slp st all in last ch. Do not finish off Now forming toes, Turn leg Ch 8, slp st in first sc of this row, repeat this 2 more times, so you have a total of 3 toes, all with slp st in first sc of this row. Sc in next 4 sc’s, 3 sc in next sc, sc in last 10 sc. FO leaving longer tail for sewing. Sew arms at frog sides, sew legs at back of frog. Embroider, or paint on eyes. |
