Materials:
Worsted Weght Yarn (like RedHeart) in:
A main color, and a small amount of different colors to embroider eyes, nose and mouth.
Size E hook
Stitch Marker
Yarn Needle

Finish Size: 2 ½”h x 2”w x 5” Long counting tail.

Different Stitches:
Hdc Popcorn St-6 hdc in next st, take hook out of loop, put hook in the loops of first hdc and the back into prior loop. Pull loop thru loops of first hdc and ch1.

Notes:

Kitty is crochet in one piece so there is no sewing.

Kitty is worked in a continuous spiral, do not join unless specified.

Mark the first stitch of the round and move it up as you go along, to keep track.

When doing my sc decreases, sometimes I do them in the front loops only. It helps minimize the hole sometimes left when decreasing.

When Rnd 5 comes only work in the front loop only when indicated.

Directions:

Rnd 1: With Main Color Yarn ch2 leaving a tail to crochet over, 6 sc in 2nd chain from hook crocheting over tail. (6sc)
Pull tail taut to close hole from starting.
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around. (12sc)
Rnd 3: 1 sc in each st around. (12sc)
Rnd 4: [2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st] Do this 6 times. (18sc)
Rnd 5: 1 sc in each of the next 9 sts, 1 sc in the front loop of next st, ch3, 1 sc in 2nd chain from hook, 1 hdc in next chain, sl st in same front loop, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts, sl st in front of next st, ch3, 1 sc in 2nd chain from hook, 1 hdc in next chain, 1 sc in same front loop, 1 sc in each of the next 4 sts. (16 sc and 2 ears [sc, ch3, sc hdc, slst x 2])

Note:

The stitches you work in the front loops are going to be the ears, do not work into these stitches. For the next Rnd you will be working in the back loops left unwork by working in the front loops only (on Rnd 5). You should only have 2 back loops (behind the ears) to work sc into. The rest will be work regularly (thru both loops).

Rnd 6: Hdc Popcorn st in next st, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts, Hdc popcorn st in next st, 1 sc in each of the next 4 sts, 1 sc in back loop (behind ear), 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts, 1 sc in back loop (behind ear), 1 sc in each of the next 4 sts. (16 sc and 2 Hdc Popcorn sts) (18 sts total)
Rnd 7: 1 sc in each st around. (18sc)
Rnd 8: 1 sc in each st around. (18sc)
Rnd 9: Hdc Popcorn st in next st, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts, Hdc Popcorn st in next st, 1 sc in each of the next 13 sts. (2 Hdc Popcorn sts, 16sc) (18sc total)
Embroider eyes, nose and mouth onto cat.
Rnd 10: [1 sc in next st, sc decrease next 2 sts together] Do this 6 times. (12sc)
Rnd 11: 1 sc in each st around. (12sc)
Stuff kitty now. You will only be stuffing the body, the tail is left unstuffed.
Rnd 12: [Sc decrease next 2 sts together] Do this 6 times. (6sc)
Rnd 13: 1 sc in each st around. (6sc)
Rnd 14-18: repeat Rnd 13 for Rnds 14 thru 18. (6sc)
Rnd 19: [Sc decrease next 2 sts together] Do this 3 times. (3sc)
Finish off and weave in end.

Enjoy!!!!!!!!
