My Heart Belongs to Baby (blankie)

My Heart Belongs to Baby blankie

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...aboy/iab4v.jpg

The blankie was originally made for a Cabbage Patch Kid baby but the pattern could easily be made bigger and be used for an actual baby.

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...aboy/iab6v.jpg

The pattern is worked over a multiple of 11 + 2 stitches so your starting chain would need to be a multiple of 11 + 4. In this version. I was working over 57 stitches. That is 5 X 11 = 55 plus 2 stitches [57 st] and then two more chains for the beginning DC.

You also need to know how to do a 3dc-decrease and a Treble Crochet Crossed stitch. It seems that what I call a Cross stitch is not what others consider a Crossed stitch so I will show you my version for this blanket - there is a simple slide show for these instructions if that helps

Instructions for the Tr cross section
Work DC in the first dc of the section,

skip one stitch and YO twice to work a TR in the next st.

YO twice …

work in front of the TR you just made and insert your hook from back to front in the skipped stitch. Complete your TR as usual and work a dc in the last dc of this section.

3DC dec. stitch section for this blanket is where you reduce 3dc to one stitch.. In addition, for this pattern you will be sharing one stitch for both clusters so be ready for it.

[Yo, insert hook, yo, draw lp through, yo, draw through 2 lps on hook] in each of the first three stitches in this section YO and draw through 4 lps on hook. Ch 3, starting in the same stitch as you ended your last 3DC dec. work anotheron the last 3 stitches. Remember that you are sharing one stitch.

On to the blankie…
Chain 59.
Row 1: dc in 4th ch from hook and each ch across. (57 dc)
Row 2: dc in first 3 dc, *ch 2, sk 3 dc, 3dc in next dc, ch 2, sk 3 dc, dc in next dc, Tr cross, dc in next dc* repeat to end. End with dc in last 3 dc.
Row 3: dc in the first 3 dc, *ch1, 2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc, 2dc in next dc, ch 1, dc in next dc Tr cross, dc in next dc* repeat to end. End with dc in last 3 dc.
Row 4: dc in first 3 dc, *ch 1, dc in next 5 dc, ch 1, dc in next dc, Tr cross, dc in next dc* repeat to end. End with dc in last 3 dc.
Row 5: dc in first 3 dc, *ch 2, 3dc dec. over first 3 stitches of heart motif, ch 3, 3dc dec over last 3 stitches of heart motif, ch 2, dc in next dc, Tr cross, dc in next dc* repeat to end. End with dc in last 3 dc.
Row 6: dc in first 3 dc, 1dc in ch 2 sp, dc in top of 3dc-dec., 3dc in ch 3 sp, dc in top of 3dc-dec., 1dc in ch 2 sp, dc in next dc Tr cross, dc in next dc,* repeat to end. End with dc in last 3 dc. (you should have 57 dc on this row in order to continue the pattern.)

Repeat these 6 rows as often as you wish and you can change colours for each section.

I do not have a problem with people/groups using my patterns to make a little extra money by physically making them and selling the items they make.

However, I do not permit the selling of my patterns for money. I have once given permission for a booklet to be made of them for a charitable sale and I may do so again *if I am asked* and if it is for a church, charity or school type group. But first you have to ask.

Furthermore, If you choose to use my patterns as a money maker, I do not permit my images to be used for any advertizing of your work. You must make your own item and photograph that. These images are as much a part of my Web image as a designer as the patterns are and I reserve that use to myself alone.
