Strawberry Shortcake TP Cover

Strawberry Shortcake TP Cover

Materials:
small amount red worsted weight yarn
small amount white worsted weight yarn
small amount cormeal/yellow worsted weight yarn
H hook
G hook
tapestry needle

FLO=front loop only

**Do not join unless otherwise instructed. Mark stitches when working in the round.**

Strawberries (make 5):
With red and H hook, ch 2.
Rnd 1: 4 sc in 2nd ch from hook (4 sc)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around (8 sc)
Rnd 3: sc around (8 sc)
Rnd 4: sc around, join with sl st in next st, end off leaving long tail (8 sc)
**Using tail, sew shut top of strawberry so that it lays flat. Weave in ends.**

Whipped cream:
With white and H hook, ch 65. sl st in 4th ch from hook. (ch 3, sl st in next st) across. End off, leaving long tail.
** Arrange in a spiral shape to resemble whipped cream as pictured. Carefully place stitches through layers to tack into place. Weave in ends.**

Cake Top/Icing:
With white and H hook, ch 2.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook (6 sc)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around (12 sc)
Rnd 3: (sc in next st, 2 sc in next st) around (18 sc)
Rnd 4: (sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st) around (24 sc)
Rnd 5: (sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st) around (30 sc)
Rnd 6: (sc in next 4 sts, 2 sc in next st) around (36 sc)
Rnd 7: (sc in next 5 sts, 2 sc in next st) around (42 sc)
Rnd 8: (sc in next 6 sts, 2 sc in next st) around (48 sc)
Rnd 9: (sc in next 7 sts, 2 sc in next st) around, join with sl st in next st (54 sc)
Rnd 10: (ch 3, sl st in FLO of same st. ch 3, sl st in FLO of next st) around. End off, weave in ends.

Cake Bottom:
With Cornmeal and G hook, ch 54. Join in 1st ch with sl st to form circle.
Row 1-2: Ch 3, dc around. Join with sl st at top of beg ch 3 (54 dc)
Row 3: Ch 3, dc around. Join with sl st at top of beg ch 3, end off (54 dc)
Row 4: Join with white with sl st in last st worked. Ch3, dc around. Join with sl st in top of beg ch 3, end off (54 dc)
Row 5: Join with cornmeal with sl st in last st worked. Ch3, dc around. Join with sl st in top of beg ch 3 (54 dc)
Row 6: Ch 3, dc around. Join with sl st at top of beg ch 3 (54 dc)
Row 7: Ch 3, dc around. Join with sl st at top of beg ch 3, end off (54 dc)
Row 8: Join with white with sl st in FLO of any st. (ch 3, sl st in FLO of same st. ch 3, sl st in FLO of next st) around. End off, weave in ends.

**Assembly: Arrange whipped cream and strawberries on cake top and glue or sew to attach as shown in picture. With wrong sides facing up of cake top and bottom, sew pieces together through back loops that were not worked during rnd 10 of top and rnd 8 of bottom. Secure with knot sewing yarn with knot and weave in ends.**
