Chicklet Amigurumi

Here is the chick of my Easter Amigurumi Trio. Look for Honey Bunny and Ewey the Lamb.

Materials:
e Yellow worsted weight yarn – 50 g.
e Orange worsted weight yarn – 8 g.
e Crochet Hook - G
e Row Markers
e 6 mm Black Beads - 2
e Tapestry Needle (steel)
e Stuffing

Body:
Row 1: With Yellow make a magic loop, sc 6.
Row 2: 2 sc (inc) in each st. (12 sts)
Row 3: [2 sc (inc), sc] 6 times. (18 sts)
Row 4: [2 sc (inc), sc 2] 6 times. (24 sts)
Row 5: [2 sc (inc), sc 3] 6 times. (30 sts)
Row 6: [2 sc (inc), sc 4] 6 times. (36 sts)
Row 7: 2 sc (inc), 8 times, sc 28. (44 sts)
Row 8 – 16: Work even. (44 sts)
Row 17: [sc 2 tog, sc] 8 times, sc 20. (36 sts)
Row 18: Work even. (36 sts)
Row 19: [sc 2 tog, sc 4] 6 times. (30 sts)
Row 20: Work even. (30 sts)
Row 21: [sc 2 tog, sc 3] 6 times. (24 sts)
Row 22: Work even. (24 sts)
Row 23: [sc 2 tog, sc 2] 6 times. (18 sts)
Row 24: Work even. (18 sts)
Row 25: [sc 2 tog, sc] 6 times. (12 sts)
Row 26: Work even. (12 sts)
Fill Chicklet with stuffing almost all the way full.
Row 27: sc 2 tog, 6 times.
Finish off with a 6” tail. Finish stuffing Chicklet. With tail gather around last stitches and draw closed.
Finish off, weave in tail.

Wings:(make 2)
Row 1: With Yellow make a magic loop, sc 8.
Row 2: 2 sc (inc) in each st. (16 sts)
Row 3: 2 sc (inc) 6 times, sc 10. (22 sts)
Row 4: sc 1, hdbl 4, [2 dbl] 2 times, hdbl 4, sc, sl st.
Finish off with a 10” tail for sewing wing to the body. Fold wing in half so dbl’s are on one end and tail is in the middle, sew the 2 edges together from middle to end away from the dbl’s. Position wing on body and sew it on, weave in tail.

Feet:(make 2)
Row 1: With Orange, ch 5.
Row 2: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc 3.
Row 3: Turn, sk 1, sl st 1, ch 3, turn, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc 3.
Row 4: Repeat Row 3.
Row 5: Sc in the end of Row 3, sl st to 1st ch in Row 1, Leg: ch 5, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sl st 3, turn.
Sl st, finish off with a 6” tail for sewing leg to the body. Weave in beginning tail. Run end tail through ch 5 of leg, pull tightly on the tail this should make the foot come up perpendicular to the leg. Sew leg to the body, weave in tail.

Beak:
Row 1: With Orange, ch 2, 3 hdbl in 1st ch.
Finish off with a 6” tail for sewing beak to the body, weave in beginning tail.
Fold beak to form half circle, sew beak to the body, weave in tail.

With Yellow sew on beads for the eyes.

Terminology

sc = Single Crochet
sts = Stitches
hdbl = Half Double Crochet
inc = Increase, the # sts made in the same st.
dbl = Double Crochet
tog = Together (decrease)
sl st = Slip Stitch
sk = Skip

Ok, I am showing my age here...

When I saw the title I thought it would be the little white gum pieces
